Bridgewater State University - Graduation 2014

Cheryl Opper received the Distinguished Service Award at the Bridgewater State University commencement ceremony on May 17, 2014.  President Dana Mohler-Faria presented the award to Cheryl for her 10 years of service at School on Wheels, providing academic support services and mentoring to over 1,700 children impacted by homelessness.

Hannah Taverna, School on Wheel's new Student Advocate, earned her bachelor’s degree in social work, and was the morning ceremony’s student speaker. Her talk detailed a global perspective on giving back.

“We recognize our connectedness not only to our communities, but to even the most rural villages across the globe,” she said. “We are, and always will be, forever leaving our mark, creating new paths and embarking on new journeys.”

Hannah oversees our High School Plus program where she coordinates services for all of our high school and college students including our 7 Bridgewater State Scholars.
