We currently have four positions available; a part-time Finance/Administration Director, a full-time Bridge Program Director and two part-time Tutoring Site Coordinator positions (Boston and Lowell)

Finance / Administration Director

Part-Time:        30 hours per week

Finance Duties & Responsibilities:

Oversee budgetary activities, including deposits, cash flow, and management.
Collaborate with CEO and Board of Directors to review and monitor financial activity.
Manage payroll, General Ledger, capital accounts and monthly financial statements.

  • Handle A/R and A/P, assist in budget preparation, and grant-related financial records.
  • Monitor and update direct debit payment program.
  • Coordinate with auditors for annual audit.
  • Assist in financial strategic planning and development, implementation, and monitoring of the annual budget.
  • Meet monthly with development staff regarding revenue status.
  • Assist with fundraising and staff activities as needed.

  • Human Resource Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain employment records and process hiring-related paperwork & benefits, including retirement plans.
  • Interpret and explain HR policies, laws, and standards, including Equal Opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities (ADA) and affirmative action.
  • Conduct new employee orientations; update and maintain HR documents.
  • Confer with management to develop personnel policies or procedures.
  • Oversee lease, contract, and financial commitment management.


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (Business/Finance preferred).

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Independence and team collaboration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Sensitivity to homelessness issues.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Database system experience.
  • Experience with ADP & Quickbooks.
  • Non-profit organization work experience.
  • Familiarity with grant processes.

Bridge Program Director

Summary: The Bridge Program Director is responsible for providing wrap-around educational services for students impacted by homelessness and poverty who are in high school and beyond and are interested in continuing their education.

The Bridge Program Director works with volunteer mentors to train and pair them with a student to provide advocacy, guidance, application assistance and support services. The Bridge Program Director works to develop partnerships with colleges and vocational programs, as well as other local agencies, to better connect students with local resources to further their goals and advance their education.

Duties and Responsibilities:

● Supports mentors and students in developing education plans that are realistic and suitable for their specific needs and educational goals.

● Recruit and train mentors for all Bridge Students

● Oversee Mentors to ensure they provide mentoring, support services, and resources for all students so that they are successful in their education.

● Assist high school students with the college search, application and selection process, including researching their options, filling out applications, researching scholarships, filling out FAFSA forms, signing up for SATS and setting up college visits.

● Accompany students to orientations and college tours, set up meetings with administrators, and assist students to purchase college supplies and move into their dorm room.

● Communicate with college students & mentors regularly throughout the semester as well as meet with students at the close of each semester to discuss success and resolve challenges.

● Build Partnerships with local high school and college staff, faculty and advisors in order to recruit students and assist with the transition to a post-secondary institution.

● Manage Student Financial Assistance program which helps fund the cost of school supplies, books, transportation, service trips and other expenses not covered by financial aid for high school and college students.

● Keep meticulous and timely student data in our database program.

● Ability to travel to meet with students and mentors.

● Our service area is in Southeast Massachusetts, Boston and Lowell with a focus on increasing our presence in Lowell and Boston.

TUTORING SITE COORDINATORS 

1. Boston-based coordinator to oversee tutors, students and partners at two Boston area sites - Brighton and Dorchester.

This position includes on-site supervision in Dorchester on Monday evenings and at our Brighton site on Thursday evenings - hours are 5:30 - 7:30 at both locations.  The position includes additional "remote" hours of prep-time.   

2.  Lowell-based coordinator two evenings a week - Weds. from 5:30 - 6:30 pm and Thursdays from 6 - 7 p.m.  One site location will be overseeig teens/young adults needing help with GED for high school diplomas and next steps; the other is overseeing students and tutors at a family shelter.
